About DAY-NULM:Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM) To reduce poverty and vulnerability of the urban poor households by enabling them to access gainful self-employment and skilled wage employment opportunities, resulting in an appreciable improvement in their livelihoods on a sustainable basis.
The different components of the Mission are:1) Employment through Skill Training and Placement (ESTP): This component of DAY-NULM will focus on providing assistance for development / upgrading of the skills of the urban poor so as to enhance their capacity for self-employment and salaried employment.2) Social Mobilization and Institutional Development (SM&ID): This component will focus on the mobilisation of urban poor households to form their own institutions for an eff ective and sustainable poverty reduction programme.3) Self-Employment Program (SEP): This component will focus on fi nancial assistance to individuals/groups of urban poor for setting up gainful self-employment ventures/micro-enterprises4) Shelter for Urban Homeless (SUH): The main objective of Scheme of Shelter for Urban Homeless (SUH) is to provide shelter and all other essential services to the poorest of the poor segment of urban societies5) Support to Urban Street Vendors (SUSV): This component aims at skilling of street vendors, support micro-enterprise development, credit enablement and pro-vending urban planning along with supporting social security options for vulnerable groups such as women, SCs/STs and minorities.ASSAM STATE URBAN LIVELIHOODS MISSION SOCIETY (ASULMS)A State Level Committee (Governing Council and Executive Committee) was notified by the Government of Assam in 2014 and the Assam State Urban Livelihoods Mission Society (ASULMS) has been established to implement DAY-NULM in Assam.
The Assam State Urban Livelihoods Mission Society (ASULMS) is a registered body and the Rules & Regulations have been formulated.
The State Mission Management Unit (SMMU), a dedicated support team at the state level, has been established to support the State Mission Director, ASULMS in the implementation and monitoring of DAY-NULM at the state level.
Similarly City Mission Management Units (CMMUs) have been established for 25 cities so far.
There is provision for formation of more CMMUs, if the requirement for the same arises in the future.About “KALPATARU” app:An initiative of DAY-NULM, Assam through which a platform will be provided to the skill-trained candidates of Assam to provide different Utility services in the households of Assam.
The App is designed is such a simple way that customers who require any technicians like electricians or plumbers can book for their service directly from the “Kalpataru” App.
The integration of Technicians & Customers is done through the App and it is completely free of cost for both the stakeholders.
The “Kalpataru” app is readily available in Google Play Store.
